Wright-Locke Farm - Winchester, MA

Wright-Locke Farm is a community-based organic farm with a unique history and an exciting future.  Owned by the Town of Winchester, Wright-Locke Farm is one of the oldest continuously operated farms in Massachusetts and is the singular remaining agricultural property in Winchester.  Prior to the town’s 2008 purchase of the 20 acres, the property had been farmed for 374 years by only three families.

Located on a spectacular hillside adjacent to 120 acres of conservation land, the Farm is growing a variety of organic vegetables, flowers and berries, all for sale at local farmers’ markets and restaurants.  They also offer educational programs geared specifically for children and classes on raising chickens and lambs. They are bringing life back to the newly expanded fields and the historic farmstead.  Their vision is one of a vibrant working farm with farm-based activities for young and old that connects their community to the land, locally grown foods, their history, open space activities, and, to one another.
